RULES OF THE TOURNAMENT:
Kids up to 15 - 4 Minute round with 'first points' if there is no submission during regulation time.
Teens and Adults 5 Minute round with 'first points' to win if there is no submission during regulation time.
- There is no time limit in the 'extra' points round. Once the timer for regulation time expires, the referee will call 'POINTS ON!' and the competitors will continue from the same position (without standing or the fight being interrupted) till one of the competitors scores and maintains a points position for 3 seconds.
You will be called up to compete in your nominated weight division prior to your first scheduled bout.
You will need to weigh in wearing your uniform (fight gear) and be within your nominated weight division. Please note: If you miss weight, you will forfeit your division.
There is NO allowance for the Gi. You must be within your weight division with your fight attire on.
You DO NOT have to wear a ranked rash guard or meet the AFBJJ colour standards. You can wear any colour fight shorts that you like.
The Gi must be CLEAN and WASHED. It must be within the 'sizing' of the AFBJJ however it does NOT have to meet any of the PATCH locations or Colour Criteria.

NOVICE WHITE BELT DIVISION:
For all NEW competitors with less than 9 months training ONLY.
PURPLE BELT AND ABOVE:
The rule set for Purple and Above runs under modified EBI rules allowing heel hooks, knee bars and *slamming.
*Slamming - this can only be performed by escaping a submission and you cannot elevate ABOVE the shoulders! You will be instantly DQ'ed if you breach this rule.
We will not tolerate any bad behaviour, foul language or any spectator / coach that approaches the REFEREE or TIME TABLE to raise a complaint. We have 2 officials that are dedicated to resolving issues and answering any of your questions, please ask to see them.
You will be asked to leave if you breach this ruling.
